Jamaica received its first batch of covid-19 vaccines on Monday afternoon.
The plane, which transported the 50,000 AstraZeneca vaccines, donated by India, arrived at Norman Manley International Airport at 4:18.
It's expected that the supplies will be transported to the National Health Fund's warehouse.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness and other officials, including the Indian High Commissioner Masakui Rungsung, were at the airport to witness the arrival of the vaccines.
Vaccinations are set to begin on Wednesday, with priority being given to health care workers, members of the security forces, otehr government workers, and the elderly.
