Job Summary
The Director of International Business (Wholesale) will manage all activities within the Digicel Wholesale Voice, Messaging, Data, Roaming and IoT Businesses with the objective of maximizing revenues and gross margins across all products while delivering on strategic projects as tasked by the business from time to time.
Main Responsibilities
Manage upward to gain cross functional support from various members of the CxO or their staff in order to deliver on revenue generating or margin enhancing initiatives
Leverage industry knowledge to bring new wholesale telecoms products to the fore to enableew revenue streams.
Establish revenue, gross margin, operating expenditure and capital budgets required to ensure
revenue and gross margin delivery targets can be achieved. This includes headcount and staff
cost budgets and budgets to bring new services to market.
Work with Group Business Risk, Finance and Legal to establish governance and controls policies
over revenue generating contracts and service orders, operational expenditures and, where
`necessary, services the incur cost of sales or OpEx for the wider business.
Work with Group and In-Market commercial, legal and regulatory team to address any legal and
regulatory issues that arise from time to time and ideally to anticipate potential legal and regulatory issues before they become a problem.
Work with Group Commercial, Technical and L&R leads to engage off-net service providers and
ensure that Digicel maintains robust agreements and competitive pricing for leased services (e.g.Int’l Backhaul, domestic on-Island transport, voice interconnect, etc).
Review business cases for transmission assets to ensure that build decisions requiring the expenditure of CapEx or assumption of debt (e.g. sale lease back) to construct strategic assets cannot otherwise be achieved more efficiently via leasing service from competitors.
Oversee engagement with off-net service providers including ensuring regular service reviews
that maximize the value of service credits due and ensure services provided by third parties are in line with what Digicel can deliver were it to own the underpinning assets itself.
Review monthly financial output and monthly forecasts in conjunction with local markets and finance to ensure revenue, costs, margins and KPIs are reported sensibly, accurately and that
amounts reported are complete and that forecasts carry the highest possible degree of accuracy.
Establish revenue, cost of sales and OpEx targets for commercial management teams and
ensure the team members have access to the relevant information, technical resource and support to ensure they can deliver on established targets.
Liaise closely with finance to ensure close management of Wholesale debtors balances and to maximize the value of working capital and enhance Group cashflow wherever possible.
Liaise with and act as a point of escalation for external and internal partners.
Experience and Qualification Required
Bachelor's degree
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a commercial wholesale leadership role
Expert knowledge of Wholesale telecoms across all aspects of wholesale telecommunications.
Experience and understanding of local regulations and how they impact the business or, at least, a good grounding in dealing with regulated environments
Aptitude for rapidly assimilating and understanding the local regulatory environment and the potential impact on company and business unit strategy and tactics.

Has an outstanding commercial mindset and motivational leadership style.
Ability to engage in effective and persuasive negotiations.
