Jamaica has recorded 141 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 2,011.
Of the new cases, 86 are females and 55 are males, ranging in age from 40 to 97 years. They are from Kingston and St. Andrew (87), St. Catherine (26), Manchester (8), St. James (7), St. Thomas (8), Portland (3), St. Elizabeth (1) and Trelawny (1). Six of the cases are contacts of confirmed cases, one is local transmission not epidemiologically linked, while 134 cases are under investigation. There are now 1,032 active cases, with 12 moderately ill patients and four who are critically ill. Recoveries have climbed to 888, with 42 people being declared free of the illness in the last 24 hours.
